Only slowly...recently...do I understand why primates don't eat their young.
They're SO cute. So adorable. So helpless.
Even the dominant male Silverback gorillas tolerate their bumbling intrusions.
But now, much later on... when they grow to 'adulthood' I wonder about the wisdom of that.
(The 'not eating part'. Not the 'questioning of the wisdom' part.) Maybe a big mistake.
The ingratitude is an affront.  The submissiveness is an insult.  The shallow rudeness...                                                                                                                                                                                       But I needn't continue. You get the idea. You may have already experienced it...and made excuses for them. Pity. It's a wonder that becoming a grandparent that we geezer don't the new little Bastards.
Maybe it's because we KNOW that they will punish their own parents wit the ingratitude. The rudeness, It is silent retribution indeed. Totally in keeping with our aged wisdom and smarts.
Ingratitude is like an inheritance we reluctantly bequeath to our ungrateful kids.
How appropriate, non?
