I got a brief look at the Future...
and I was alert enough to recognize it. Somewhat like Newton and the Apple. Remember?     FIRST it was with the Plumbers - whom I had called to make some repairs on the aging condo pipes. This toilet, that shower regulator, the other pipe leaking...y'know the aging of the homestead. SECOND was when I took the Miata for an oil change and a look at the non-functioning A/C unit. The Eleven Months of Summer are upon us...with both feet...and I wanted to be prepared.  "Okay Crabby, What Happened?" 
Well, when each of these techie guys 'explained' the problem and the needed repairs, I understood NONE of it. And I swear they even used the SAME WORDS. 
' The Frammistat' 'The Refluctuator' 'The Connectagazoint' Blah, Blah, Blah. Ay Caramba!
Not only didn't any of it make sense to me...I couldn't even remember the procedures offered.       I DO remember  the certainty of the dire warning that the tree roots would definitely grow back into some exhaust pipe and ....I forget the outcome. Dire, non? 
"Okay Crabby, so how does this foretell the Future?"
You may well ask. Well, if I cannot follow the relatively simple mechanics of this current, historic apparatus (These antiques) - how can I ever comprehend the newer devices...computers, iPods, laptops, smart phones, Apps, etc. etc? (And the First Guy who says it's easy, is gonna get strangled. Y'hear?) The ONLY move I've mastered is going to the "START" button on the screen to SHUT DOWN my computer. Y'get the irony? Press START to SHUT DOWN. Grrr...
