Please don't rub it in...
It was silly of me to try to save a few bucks on the airfares, to and from my latest cruise to Barcelona. I booked a Red-Eye flight, leaving a one a.m. (arriving at 9:30 a.m. into Ft. Lauderdale) to save a night's lodging before boarding the Ryndam. And since I've had weeks to pack...and I don't leave for the airport until 10 p.m. there's nothing for me to do. I've been puttering around aimlessly all day. Puttering! All my boarding passes, documents and tag labels were done by 11 a.m. Putter. Putter.
I finally know how pregnant ladies feel in their 8th and 9th months, prior to their water breaking.
Arriving, without sleep all night, and I felt like Hell. Met Jo at the airport and he felt similarly, having flown from Thailand, Dubai, Milan, JFK to FLL. We commiserated and were grouchy together. All this agita lasted for the full 15 cruise. The trip back, a money-saver also, was even worse. From Barcelona to Stockholm to LAX was endless. No sleep there either. Add to that the 'time zone' effect on the body and you'll see what I mean. Grrrr... It takes forever to get over these upsets to the body. So in de future I shall fly during the day, sleep at night, eat and pee during daylight hours...and pay the excessive airfares. Or maybe I'll stay home. That sounds like a more desirable solution to this nagging problem. Got a problem wid dat???
