Correct me IF I'm wrong...
Isn't it ironic how that radio you bought back in the 60's or 70's still works? And how that toaster you inherited from your mother (or ex-wife) still makes perfect toast? And that old blender you occasionally use for Margarita's still spins, blends and turns out damned fine drinks.
So how come the Operating System 8, from MSFT, has been discontinued and now denies my computer access to the Internet? Mystifying, no? Can someone give an explanation of this 'New Arrangement'? Y'buy a computer and after a few years the Op. Sys. EXPIRES?? Huh?
And now to whom do I appeal? Hewlet-Packard? To MSFT? To Cox Cable? To Al Gore?
Now I fully understand the option, that "if I buy a NEW model of the blah, blah, blah, it will have the successor Op. Sys. and work just fine." Not Bloody Likely !
I may just have to go back to my radio.
I'd like to think that Bill Gates had nothing to do with this Marketing Ploy. It's far to undignified for him. And we Geezers cherish dignity. Along with appliances that work forever.
